My whole career has featured finance in some way - after leaving school I spent 11 years working for a Building Society gaining knowledge and experience in customer services, savings, and mortgages, before making a career change to become an accountant.
-
Changing career 17 years ago was something I have never looked back on. I am in my element helping clients, whether it is completing a Tax Return or a set of accounts, assisting a client to setup or build their business or to provide advice on tax planning.
I have worked with lots of my clients for over 10 years and have built trusted relationships with each and every one of them. I like to ensure that each client is happy, feels important and that they fully understand the things that are important to them so they don’t have to worry.
I am focused, driven and loyal but at the same time flexible and adaptable. This enables me to ensure that the service afforded to my clients is of the highest standard and is built around their needs and unique circumstances.

My degree and masters are in architecture, after a few years of working in architectural practice I decided I wanted to change the direction of my career. Moving into the accountancy profession was perfect for utilising my numerical and analytical skills and love of working with people.
-
My decision to change career path has proven to be the right thing to do, I now love my job.
I work closely with my clients to remove the worry of digital record keeping, compliance issues and help them to progress and achieve their business goals. Building relationships with my clients is so important, the personal touch can make all the difference.
It is so important that we take the time to listen to our clients and understand how their business operates, allowing us to provide the best service. I am ambitious, hardworking and loyal, for me, job satisfaction comes from delivering the best.

I have always enjoyed working with numbers, so a career in Accountancy felt like a very natural choice. I studied Accounting and Financial Management at University before starting my career in practice, where I would go on to become Chartered.
-
My main enjoyment comes from working with people – both my colleagues and clients. I love learning about our client’s different business ventures and finding ways to help them. Whether that be showing them how to download a bank statement or giving long term tax planning advice.
Throughout my career I have worked with varying sized businesses across a large span of sectors, with experience in corporate and personal taxes, accounting and audit. I understand that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach and strive to make our clients feel valued and heard.

I have always had a love of numbers. Both Grandad’s were Accountants and their passion rubbed off on me, it was only natural that I would study Accountancy & Financial Management at university, I then stayed on at the University of Buckingham for a Masters in Accounting & Finance.

I first started working with Vicky and Natalie in May 2019, when I secured my first job in accountancy, with Natalie as my training manager.
One of my favourite aspects of the role is assisting clients to unpick a problem – I don’t ever want any of our clients to have cause to worry. We are here to help and it is wonderful when clients pick up the phone for assistance rather than cause themselves stress.
Building relationships with clients is so important and I particularly enjoy working with individuals and companies on their accounts and tax returns, where the personal touch can make a difference.

When I was a child, my father owned a greengrocers that had been in the family for 3 generations, so I grew up around book-keeping – and I always understood the importance of getting it right. Even today, I like nothing more than the satisfaction of getting a statement reconciled!
-
I have a 1920s ledger from my great grandfather and his carpentry business – but don’t worry, it doesn’t get used for book keeping anymore!
I am experienced in book-keeping and company secretarial services, I have an eye for detail and a tenacious nature for investigating and solving problems. I am careful, methodical and enjoy bringing structure and organisation to data and accounts.
All of my roles in the last 25 years or so have been around accounting, in various industries. Business sectors aside, my dedication to accuracy has been central to every role I’ve had. I’m a self-confessed perfectionist, but luckily accounting is the kind of role where that’s a strength.
